The reason I ask is that I need help deciding between UF and Vanderbilt University which is in Nashville (assuming I get into both), and I visited Nashville and really liked it. I’ve heard that there’s nothing to do in Gainesville and that all life revolves around UF and the Gators. Is this true?

I have a writing assignment due. It’s a descriptive paper and I must describe a place in Gainesville, Florida. It could be any place-how ever large or small– a room, a park, a street corner, etc. but the place has to have a unique quality about it that makes it different than another similar place. For example, if i choose some park as my location, I must describe what makes that park different than any other park. Another guideline for the assignment is that this place must contain human activity.

So, I am looking for suggestions about unique places in Gainesville, FLorida which contains human activity and hopefully lots of things that appeal to the five senses so that my paper can have many details.

I don’t go out much in gainesville, so i don’t know any good places. and on campus at UF, I haven’t been able to think of a place that fits the assignment criterias.
